Getting Started

Government issued photo identification (such as a driver's license) is necessary for entrance into the One Capitol Mall building.

Upon arriving in the Research Room, all patrons must sign the register. First time visitors will be asked to complete a registration form, for which a valid driver's license or other current photo identification is required, and will receive a permanent research number. The patron will use this number when signing the register or requesting materials. Special registration procedures apply on Saturdays.

It is possible to make copies of material from paper and microfilm, except where restrictions apply. The restrictions concerning copying are listed in Rules of the Arkansas History Commission. A full set of the policies and procedures governing the Arkansas History Commission and the Research Room is available at the Commission.
